In October 2005, eminent Indian economist, Prof. G.K. Chadha, former Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University and currently one of the economic advisors of the Prime Minister of India, visited Shenzhen University and lectured on topics of Indian economic growth, Chinese economic growth, and the functions of universities in the Indian society.
